Welcome to PrismResearch.org : Psychosocial Research Initiative on Sexual Minorities. We are a research team dedicated to promoting understanding of and psychosocial improvement in the lives of sexual minorities, focusing on lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and same-gender loving individuals. This research initiative was founded by Sharon Rostosky, Ph.D., Department of Educational & Counseling Psychology, and Ellen Riggle, Ph.D., Department of Political Science and the Program in Gender and Women's Studies, at the University of Kentucky. Members of our research team come from many departments throughout the university, as well as from other universities.

This study is for LOCAL COUPLES ONLY (Lexington, KY area).

NEW RESEARCH STUDY FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES

Dr. Sherry Rostosky, PhD, and Dr. Ellen Riggle, PhD, are conducting research on same-sex couple relationships and are interested in contacting you and your partner to see if you both would be willing to be interviewed as part of our current study. Specifically, we are looking for same-sex couples in the Lexington, KY area that have been together as a couple for at least 4 years and couple members are at least 25 years old. If you agree to participate in this study, we will set up a two-hour appointment to interview the two of you about the challenges that you have experienced over the course of your relationship, and the ways you have dealt with those challenges. The focus of the interview is on challenges that couples face from outside their relationship (e.g., work, religion, families of origin, discrimination or harassment). All information you give us will be treated confidentially. To compensate you for your time, we are offering a $50.00 stipend per couple member.
